Car tinting for heat control and dark film are not opposites: one describes a solar purpose, the other appearance and light transmission. A dark film can have good solar performance, while a light option can differ in construction and result. Choosing needs the actual product specifications.
Solar energy includes visible and infrared components; judging all heat by darkness or one IR percentage is misleading. Film affects energy entering through the covered glass, but other surfaces also heat the cabin. It does not replace air conditioning, shade or ventilation.
A light option can combine visibility with solar protection. Different shades within a product line need not have identical performance. Compare the actual variants you are considering.

A before-and-after temperature comparison needs a comparable car, weather, sun direction, parking duration, air-conditioning use and measurement method. A single-glass demonstration or IR lamp cannot guarantee the same temperature change throughout a car. Results without comparable conditions cannot be transferred to other vehicles.
“Athermal” does not establish one construction. LLumar ceramic products, for example, have different shades and heat-rejection levels. Ask the studio about the actual LLumar, LuxArmor or other offered product, availability and warranty. Lifespan and price premiums cannot be set by universal years or percentages.
