Which materials BESTAUTO uses — brands and why these specifically

Llumar, LuxArmor, Quantum for paint protection film. Gyeon for ceramic. LLumar and LuxArmor for tinting. Koch Chemie for washing. Brand by brand.

Brand choice for detailing materials is not a matter of taste but a technical and commercial question. The film brand determines whether edges lift after a year or the film lasts the full ten years. The ceramic brand determines whether clearcoat keeps hydrophobicity for two years or starts sheeting after eight months. The tint brand determines whether the film stays grey or turns purple by the third season. At BESTAUTO, the brand selection was not driven by supplier marketing pressure but by specific technical criteria and manufacturer warranty. Below — by cluster, which brands work at the studio, why those specifically, and which technologies distinguish them.

PPF: Llumar, LuxArmor, Quantum

paint protection film is the most brand-sensitive service in detailing. The gap between cheap and premium films shows up not on day one (they're all clear) but at 12-24 months — when budget film starts yellowing in sun, lifting at edges, cracking at bend points. That's why in PPF paint protection film BESTAUTO works only with three brands, each with a 10-year factory warranty.

Llumar. American brand with 65+ years of history, originally focused on safety film for buildings and transport. Entered automotive protection film in the 2000s and quickly became one of industry's references. Key tech — self-healing TPU topcoat that closes minor scratches (from hedges, keys, careless washers) under heat (sun, warm water in washing). Thickness — 180-200 microns, enough to stop stones up to 3-4 mm diameter. Optimal for owners who do a lot of out-of-city driving and gravel.

LuxArmor. Younger brand specialising in the premium tier. Distinguishing feature — optical clarity higher than most competitors. The film is virtually imperceptible on the body in any light; for dark-colour cars (graphite, navy, black) this is critical — cheap films show a visible "matte" effect on such colours. LuxArmor works "as if it's not there". Hydrophobic properties best-in-segment: water after washing beads fast and leaves no marks.

Quantum. The brand chosen for the best price-feature balance. Technically not behind Llumar or LuxArmor on main parameters (10-year warranty, self-healing, UV protection), but noticeably cheaper in wholesale. This is the film for owners whose budget is tight but who won't accept a quality compromise. Quantum gives 80-85% of premium brand performance at 70% of the price — a sensible middle ground for most mid-segment cars.

All three brands are certified in Georgia; every car gets a manufacturer warranty certificate with VIN and term (up to 10 years). Choice between Llumar, LuxArmor and Quantum is made by individual configuration — car model, colour, budget, use scenario. At the in-person consultation the technician shows samples of each film and explains the difference on the specific body.

Ceramic: Gyeon

In ceramic coatings, BESTAUTO works only with one brand — Korean Gyeon. A deliberate choice based on three reasons.

First — system transparency. Gyeon classifies its coatings by actual hardness (9H, 10H and above) with verifiable tests, not abstract marketing categories like "premium", "lux", "elite". When a client asks how Gyeon Quartz differs from Gyeon Pure, the technician has a concrete technical answer: different layer thickness, different service life, different chemical resistance.

Second — a product line tailored to tasks. Gyeon has separate formulas for body clearcoat, for plastic on the body, for glass, for interior plastic, for leather, for fabric upholstery, for wheels and for brake calipers. Not a universal product with marketing reruns, but an engineered system where each component is designed for a specific surface.

Third — manufacturer support. Certified studios receive formula updates, training on new application techniques, and warranty support in case of production defects. Rare in detailing chemistry, where most brands disappear from the installer's sight once the product is sold.

Body ceramic from Gyeon holds 2-3 years on the premium line; interior — 12-18 months on the interior-specific line. The studio uses both series; specific formula selection depends on the car's condition and the client's preferences for service life.

Tinting: LLumar and LuxArmor

Glass tinting is an area where brand differences show faster than in other services. Cheap films lose colour in 2-3 years (black turns purple or greenish), cloud up, start lifting at edges. At BESTAUTO two brands are used, each solving that problem differently.

LLumar in tinting — same manufacturer as Llumar PPF (both owned by Eastman). Their tint films are a separate tech line with a metallised layer to block UV and infrared. A classic choice for owners wanting a classic black tint with guaranteed colour stability — in 5-7 years LLumar barely changes colour or clouds up.

LuxArmor for tinting — a newer line with ceramic deposition instead of metal. Two key differences: no attenuation of radio and GPS signals (metallised films occasionally interfere with modern electronics), and better infrared rejection (reflects 55-60% of heat vs 40-45% for metallised). For premium-spec cars (lots of electronics, sensors, ADAS) LuxArmor often becomes mandatory because metallised film conflicts with sensors.

Both brands have official distribution in Georgia, installation certification, and a 5-7-year manufacturer warranty depending on the series. Prices on the list:

  • Rear side glass — from 130 ₾
  • Front side glass — from 130 ₾
  • Rear window — from 160 ₾
  • Front windshield — from 290 ₾

LLumar vs LuxArmor choice is made per car: for base models usually LLumar as more accessible, for premium cars with sensors and electronics — LuxArmor.

Washing: Koch Chemie

Washing is not a service where most owners ask which chemistry is used. But in practice it is wash-line chemistry that determines how fast clearcoat loses shine, how long ceramic holds after a wash, and how aggressively film wears at its edges. BESTAUTO runs Koch Chemie — a German line.

Koch Chemie is an industrial auto chemistry manufacturer since 1968, specialising in the professional segment. Their chemistry is used on official Porsche, BMW, Mercedes lines. Two characteristics make it fit for a detailing centre.

First — pH-neutrality of the baseline shampoos. Many budget shampoos from AliExpress or local manufacturers run pH 11-13 (strongly alkaline). Alkaline strips a car clean in one pass, but at the same time it destroys ceramic coatings and accelerates PPF wear. Koch Chemie at pH 7-8 (neutral) — washes more gently but safely for protective coatings. On a car with ceramic and PPF this is critical — over time saving on Koch Chemie comes back through the need for re-ceramic 6-8 months earlier.

Second — product line split by stage. Koch Chemie has separate formulas for first wash (dense and hard dirt), second pass (gentle shampoo), degreasing before polish, pre-ceramic prep. A wash without a staged line does everything with one universal — a compromise everywhere, specialisation nowhere.

BESTAUTO pricing on Koch Chemie:

  • Two-phase wash, sedan — 40 ₾
  • Two-phase, SUV — 45 ₾
  • Three-phase (with foam pre-treatment), sedan — 55 ₾
  • Three-phase, SUV — 59 ₾
  • Engine wash — 80 ₾

The gap between "15 ₾ wash at a crossroads" and Koch Chemie at 40-55 ₾ is not marketing, it is working life of clearcoat and ceramic. Over two or three years the gap pays back through longer intervals between ceramic coatings.

Interior cleaning and polishing: why no single brand

On two clusters — interior cleaning and body polishing — BESTAUTO works without attachment to a single brand. A deliberate choice tied to the nature of those services.

Interior cleaning is not one product but 8-12 different chemistries for different tasks: alkaline for leather, neutral for fabric, enzymatic for organic stains, steam without chemistry for plastic, lanolin conditioner for leather, antistatic for finish. Each stage gets the product that works best at that step. The technician uses professional European-made products, not tied to a single "brand name" line. What matters is quality at every stage, not marketing consistency.

polishing — similar. Professional abrasives of different grit are used (coarse for serious clearcoat defects, medium for standard work, fine for finish), each matched to the specific clearcoat of the specific car. BMW, Toyota, Lexus and Chinese-brand clearcoats physically differ in hardness, and a universal polishing compound for all is a compromise that delivers average results on every car — not maximum.

The studio's position is simple: where one brand genuinely does it best (like Gyeon in ceramic or Koch Chemie in washing) — that's what is used. Where task-specific selection matters more (cleaning, polishing) — professional chemistry is used without single-brand attachment.

Why we don't work with other brands

Logical question after the list — why not other popular brands. Short answer: every selected brand passed internal checks on three criteria: technical quality (bench tests, real wear on actual cars), certification in Georgia (so manufacturer warranty works and isn't a declaration), commercial stability of the supplier (so the brand doesn't vanish from the market a year after install).

Many well-known global detailing-chemistry brands fail one or more of those criteria. Some have no official distribution in Georgia (warranty nominal, material available only through grey import). Some are technically behind Llumar or LuxArmor on specific parameters that manifest over years. Some have unstable batch quality (one batch great, the next worse — unacceptable for a commercial studio).

The "working" brand list is periodically reviewed — if a stronger solution appears on the market for a cluster, internal tests re-run. But adding a brand is not a marketing decision — it is the outcome of 6-12 months of trials on real cars.

Certificates and brand verification

On every job with branded materials, the client gets documentary confirmation:

  • PPF — manufacturer warranty certificate (Llumar, LuxArmor, or Quantum) with VIN, work date, technician signature and studio stamp. Warranty up to 10 years depending on series. In a warranty situation the certificate confirms material originality.
  • Ceramic — Gyeon warranty certificate with VIN, date, the line used (9H, 10H etc.) and term. Term — 2-5 years depending on series.
  • Tinting — LLumar or LuxArmor certificate with VIN, date, film specs (VLT, UV blocking) and warranty term.
  • Washing — not applicable (no studio issues certificates for washing).

On request the client can see the distributor's certificate of Llumar/LuxArmor/Quantum/Gyeon in Georgia in the studio's name — the document that confirms the right to use the brand under manufacturer warranty. Without it, a studio has no right to issue a warranty document to the client.

FAQ

Can I choose a different PPF brand if I want a specific one?

No. BESTAUTO works only with Llumar, LuxArmor and Quantum, because only these three have official Georgia distribution with studio certification and working manufacturer warranty. Other brands mean material without support — if a defect appears in a year, there is no claim path. We prefer to work only with materials we can truly stand behind.

What's the difference between Gyeon ceramic and the one offered at a cheap wash?

A wash typically uses generic "ceramic-labelled" products — not the same as Gyeon Quartz. Technically Gyeon is a two-component formula with 3-5 micron protective thickness and 2-5-year service life. Washes often use single-component look-alikes with 0.5-1 micron thickness and a 2-3-month life. Price 3-5x lower, life 10-20x shorter. Not comparable services.

Why not other well-known brands for tinting?

In Tbilisi, LLumar and LuxArmor have official distributors with studio certification and warranty. Other major brands on this market are either through grey import (warranty in question) or absent. We don't install film we can't back with a working warranty — that is a matter of responsibility to the client, not preference.

How much more do branded materials cost vs generics?

Depends on the service. PPF — 30-50% wholesale and 15-30% final-price gap between Llumar/LuxArmor/Quantum and "no-name film". Ceramic — Gyeon ~20-30% above no-name alternatives, but with 10-20x the service life. Tinting — LLumar/LuxArmor 40-70% above cheap films that change colour in 2-3 years. In every case premium brands pay back via service life and a working warranty.

What if I find a lower price for the same brand elsewhere?

Check that location's certification with the brand's distributor. If present — it's a real alternative, and the price gap may reflect either dumping or lower quality of supporting work (PPF requires a clean bay, trained installer, correct tooling). If certification is absent — the material is most likely grey, and manufacturer warranty won't work. Verify directly via Llumar/LuxArmor/Quantum/Gyeon representation in Georgia.

Conclusion

Material brands in detailing are not price-list decoration — they are a technical choice that drives results years ahead. BESTAUTO uses materials that passed internal checks on quality, Georgia certification and working manufacturer warranty: Llumar, LuxArmor, Quantum for PPF; Gyeon for ceramic; LLumar and LuxArmor for tinting; Koch Chemie for washing.

For each brand the studio issues an official warranty certificate confirming material originality and term. On dry cleaning and polishing, professional chemistry is used without single-brand attachment — a deliberate choice in favour of picking the optimal formula per task. The short list that exists is not for marketing — it is so that the client doesn't come back in five years asking "why is everything fine here, but the film on my friend's car from another place yellowed in a year".

Key takeaways:

  • PPF — Llumar, LuxArmor, Quantum, each with 10-year factory warranty
  • Ceramic — Gyeon, the only brand with transparent classification and per-surface formulas
  • Tinting — LLumar (metallised, base) and LuxArmor (ceramic, premium spec)
  • Washing — Koch Chemie, pH-neutral line safe for ceramic and PPF
  • Per brand — Georgia distributor certificate plus a client-specific warranty document with VIN
