Planning to keep your car for several years? Base its care on the condition of the body, interior and installed materials. This guide gives five-year checkpoints, current BESTAUTO starting prices in Tbilisi and questions for each visit. These are review points, rather than compulsory yearly packages.
Year 1. Inspection and initial protection choices
After buying a car, inspect the body and interior and identify previous treatments. Even a new vehicle may have contamination or wash marks, but deep correction is not always needed. Our new-car protection guide covers initial choices; this article focuses on ongoing care.
Polishing and preparation. Body polishing starts at 690 ₾. Inspection determines the correction needed, taking defects and previous work into account. Preparing a surface for a material does not mean every car needs deep polishing.
PPF for selected areas. The front PPF package starts at 2500 ₾: bonnet, front bumper, front wings, pillars, headlights, mirrors and the strip above the windshield. Bonnet wrapping alone starts at 800 ₾, bumper at 900 ₾; full clear wrapping at 6900 ₾. Choose coverage for your routes and risks, and confirm the terms for the specific LLumar, Quantum or LuxArmor series.
Ceramic coating and glass care. Body ceramic coating starts at 500 ₾; the BESTAUTO offer provides protection for up to 3 years. It helps with gloss and care, but does not replace PPF against road damage. Glass rain protection starts at 150 ₾. Agree film and coating compatibility, preparation and installation order in advance.
At collection, keep the work date, product name, covered areas and care instructions. This information is more useful than a universal lifetime promise: it helps with washing, condition checks and later maintenance.
Year 2. Coating checks and interior condition
In year two, compare the current condition with the handover condition. If the surfaces and interior remain in good shape, a calendar date alone does not require renewal.

Interior protection. Interior ceramic coating starts at 300 ₾, separately from deep cleaning and body coating. First assess the material and cleaning needed, then select a compatible product and care routine. There is no universal lifetime promise for all leather, plastics and fabrics.
Check the PPF. Watch for edge problems, contamination and damage. Show defects to the studio before attempting your own treatment. A premium brand still needs care; agree the time and scope of an inspection when booking.
Year 3. Body, glass and headlight care
In year three, review your care habits and the areas exposed to more dirt or wear. Observed condition determines the work, rather than the car becoming another year older.
Repeat interior cleaning. If ordinary cleaning is no longer enough, discuss treatment of fabric, leather and other surfaces. The same 400/500/550 ₾ starting categories apply, with the same scope. Family or work use alone does not require a higher-priced package.
Renewing the body coating. Up to 3 years describes the current offer, rather than proving any coating disappears on a particular day. Before renewal, assess contamination, coating condition and preparation needed. Repeat application starts at 500 ₾ for the agreed work.
Glass. Marks that interfere with visibility need an assessment of their cause and treatment options. Windshield polishing — from 200 ₾, side-glass polishing — from 100 ₾. Polishing cannot remove every defect; rain protection from 150 ₾ is a separate choice.
Headlights. If the surface is cloudy, discuss its cause and suitable treatment. Headlight polishing starts at 150 ₾; the method is chosen after inspection. A starting price does not establish a pair price or the same result lifetime for every headlight.
Year 4. Repeat work only when needed
In year four, return to the work history: when the body was polished, which products were applied and which panels were wrapped. This helps separate useful correction from repeating a treatment that remains sound.
Repeat polishing. Decide according to defects and paint condition, including the correction safely available. Body polishing starts at 690 ₾. There is no single safe three-to-four-year abrasive-polishing interval for every vehicle; age alone is not a reason to polish.
Coating after correction. Body ceramic coating starts at 500 ₾; the current polishing-and-ceramic offer starts at 990 ₾. Confirm scope and preparation. Do not add the individual starting prices to calculate this offer; coating is not a compulsory extra for every polishing job.
Local PPF work. For damage, establish whether the remaining film can stay and how to prepare the panel. Wing wrapping starts at 600 ₾ and bonnet wrapping at 800 ₾. These are installation starting prices: old-film removal, surface correction and the complete replacement scope require a separate agreement.
Interior. Repeat cleaning and protection according to condition, rather than automatically in year four. Cleaning from 400/500/550 ₾ and interior ceramic coating from 300 ₾ are separate jobs; the same total and lifetime are not promised for every material.
Chips and cracks. If glass is damaged, discuss inspection and repair suitability: a chip up to 1 cm starts at 60 ₾, 1–2 cm at 80 ₾; a crack up to 15 cm at 95 ₾ and 15–30 cm at 140 ₾. Cracks of 15–30 cm can be repaired after assessment, but repair is not always worthwhile. The ownership year does not determine damage or replacement cost.
Year 5. Selling or keeping the car
If you plan to sell, select work for the actual condition and expected result. If you keep the car, the same inspection helps plan future care. Year five does not make a pre-sale package compulsory.
Interior before showing the car. Remove dirt with suitable methods; deep cleaning depends on condition. The category starting at 550 ₾ is not compulsory for every sale. Ozone treatment at 70 ₾ is agreed separately and does not replace finding the cause of a persistent smell.
Body. Recent polishing need not be repeated for an advertisement. A sound surface may only need suitable care; for defects, discuss permissible correction from 690 ₾ and its limitations.
Film and coating. Inspect edges, damage and the surface, then agree local work if needed. Treatment history helps explain the condition to a buyer, but does not prove the absence of repairs or hidden defects.
Headlights. Treatment from 150 ₾ may be considered for clouding after inspection. Do not order it merely because you skipped year three; a fixed rejuvenation effect or result lifetime is not guaranteed.
Engine bay. Engine washing costs 80 ₾ where suitable for the car and agreed with the studio. It is care, rather than a check of mechanical soundness; it must not replace an independent inspection or conceal leaks before a sale.
Agree the work list before starting. A clean appearance can help present a car, but detailing cannot promise a price increase, sale speed or payback: the transaction also depends on condition, history, model and market.
If you keep the car beyond five years
Beyond five years, keep the same approach: observation, suitable cleaning and agreed work according to actual condition. Continuing care does not mean automatically repeating the initial protection package.
- Check the film and covered areas during normal care.
- Renew ceramic coating after assessing contamination and condition.
- Clean the interior when needed using material-appropriate products.
- Agree replacement of damaged film following inspection.
Confirm PPF replacement timing and warranty terms for the installed series and specific job. LLumar describes care and limitations for its own films; these cannot be transferred to every brand. Replacement in year ten is not a universal rule.

Must all work be done at one studio?
Knowing the work history is useful, but does not require every job to be done at one studio. Pass product names, dates and correction history to the next provider. Warranty applicability depends on the terms of the specific installation, rather than a universal rule in this article.
