They did everything very fast and at the same time to a very high standard — the whole job took just 3 days. The car came back in perfect condition; the attention to detail and the careful approach are obvious.
Clear headlight protection film adds a layer over a suitable outer surface. Before fitting PPF, the lens needs an assessment: an undamaged new headlight, a previously polished lens and a cracked unit call for different decisions. At BESTAUTO in Tbilisi, front headlight wrapping starts from 350 ₾. Headlight polishing starts at 150 ₾ separately and is not automatically included in the film price.
You may want to protect new headlights, preserve a restored surface or replace damaged film. Start with the condition of the lens and the material to be fitted. This guide covers preparation, the quote and care, so you can discuss a specific job rather than choose on a starting price alone.
What clear headlight PPF protects
Film forms a barrier on the covered exterior. LLumar describes PPF protection against road debris and scratches. For a headlight, the chosen product also needs to be suitable for that lens and surface. A brand name alone does not establish that every film in its range can be fitted to a headlight.
The film is an exposed layer and can itself acquire wear marks or damage. Its performance depends on the material, underlying surface, fitting and use. Covering one area does not protect an uncovered part, and film cannot guarantee that every impact leaves no trace. When discussing coverage, ask to see the actual area that will be protected.
Surface protection is separate from correcting a lighting fault. If light output has changed, moisture is visible inside or the housing is damaged, wrapping is not enough to determine the cause. Clear PPF does not repair a crack, reflector or electronics. The guide to polishing or replacing headlights explains when an exterior treatment may help and when a different assessment is needed.
When preparation or polishing is needed
A new lens should be checked for condition and compatibility before any preparation is agreed. The car's age is not the deciding factor: a recently fitted headlight can already be marked, while an older one may have a well-preserved surface. Assessment should concern the actual part, not just the vehicle's registration year.
Outer haze, wear or previous treatment can be reasons to discuss restoration first. Polishing changes the surface; film adds a protective layer. Tell the studio about earlier polishing, coatings and old film if you have that information. Compatibility with a restored surface needs checking rather than assuming that the same preparation suits every lens.

The method is selected after inspection. Steam treatment or one abrasive procedure should not be assumed for every headlight. The service page describes polishing as a separate operation; preparation is agreed for the particular surface.
If there is a crack, internal defect or damaged housing, address that problem first. For an already wrapped headlight, show the condition of the existing film and share any installation details you still have. Removal, assessment and possible new protection should be discussed before work begins. Adding a new layer does not resolve an unidentified defect underneath.
Choosing protective film for headlights
A useful quote identifies more than “premium PPF”. Ask which product will be fitted, whether it suits your lens and which parts will be covered. The service page explains protective film for different areas of a vehicle; discuss the headlight option with the studio.
Separate the product's properties from installation quality and warranty terms. A lifespan advertised for body film is not automatically a headlight warranty. UV protection, changes during use and the response to damage should be discussed for the chosen product. The right starting question is which film suits your surface and intended use.
- Confirm the brand and series, intended application and compatibility with previous work.
- Agree which headlights and areas are included.
- Check the preparation and what the quote covers.
- Discuss the completion time and collection arrangements.
- Get the warranty terms and care instructions for the fitted material.
If you do not know what a previous owner applied, say so. That allows the surface to be assessed without relying on an assumed treatment history. Transparent protection should be selected for the actual lens, not solely for the longest advertised warranty.
How much does headlight wrapping cost?
The BESTAUTO price list shows front headlight wrapping from 350 ₾. Headlight polishing starts at 150 ₾. These are separate starting prices, not an automatic fixed package: one car may need film on a suitable surface, another may first need restoration. Agree the total after defining the work.
Before booking, confirm the number of headlights, condition, selected film and preparation. The shape of the part and coverage boundaries should also be clear. Photographs help start the conversation, but the final job needs agreement for the particular vehicle. A starting price is not a promise of identical work on every car.

If you are considering headlights together with body protection, check what the package already includes. Do not simply add a separate price-list item to a package that may cover that same part. The partial and full PPF coverage guide helps compare wider options. Full body wrapping is a separate decision from protecting the headlights alone.
What to agree before fitting and check at collection
Prepare the model of the car, the parts you want covered and any details of previous treatment. Point out visible damage. Ask for a quote that names the material, covered area, preparation, total and completion time, so you know what the starting price has become for your job.
At collection, inspect the agreed surfaces with the technician and ask about care for that film. Discuss edges or visible marks that concern you before leaving. The studio can explain whether something needs checking or observation. Do not try to trim an edge or correct the installation with heat yourself.
Keep the product details, work record and warranty information. They are useful if the protection is later damaged or needs replacing. Similar-looking films can have different application and care requirements; a general photograph cannot establish every aspect of compatibility.
Caring for headlights with PPF
Ask when the first wash is permitted, how to clean the surface and what to do after damage. Follow the instructions for the material fitted. LLumar's PPF FAQ describes gentle hand cleaning and warns about edges lifting with pressure washing. Those are manufacturer guidelines; suitability for your headlight still depends on the chosen product.
If an edge lifts, the film is damaged or its appearance changes, show the part to the studio. Explain when you noticed it and what happened beforehand. The underlying lens and the film need separate assessment. Avoid polishing an unidentified material or trying a solvent recommended for a different surface.
Further inspection, removal or replacement depends on the condition of the protection and the relevant product guidance. Keep an eye on visible changes and discuss them with the installer rather than assume a universal replacement interval.
How to make the decision
Begin with the lens condition, then choose compatible clear film and agree the quote. Discuss polishing separately if restoration is needed. Internal defects should be assessed before surface protection is considered. The car model and photographs of the headlights will help start an enquiry.
- PPF protects the covered outer surface.
- Preparation is chosen after inspection.
- 350 ₾ and 150 ₾ are separate starting prices.
- Agree the material, coverage, timing and care before fitting.
