With films offering this property, the surface can become smoother after light damage. In its manufacturer FAQ, LLumar describes its topcoat and the healing of many surface scratches with heat, such as sunlight or warm water. Follow the conditions of your installed series when considering any treatment.

Identify the installed film and show the mark to your studio. Photographs in normal lighting and a description of when it appeared help the initial discussion. Inspection can then distinguish contamination, topcoat damage and a deeper defect.
Avoid testing the effect by scratching your installed film. Any heat treatment should follow the specific series' conditions; a generic heat-gun or boiling-water procedure is unsuitable. One mark failing to disappear quickly does not by itself establish that the whole film is worn out or needs replacement.

Age, environment and exposure affect material condition. Replacement decisions depend on actual defects and manufacturer terms.
