I had my windows tinted — the work was neat, fast and well done. The film went on evenly, with no bubbles and no flaws. I'm very happy with the result.
The car tinting process starts with agreeing the windows and material and ends with checking the work and care instructions. Installation time and full drying are different stages. This guide covers preparing for a visit and collecting your car; see our installation stages article for the general method.
What to provide when booking
- Your car model and the windows you want covered.
- Your main aim: appearance, privacy, UV protection or heat control.
- Old film, adhesive, damage or other planned glass work.
- Your preferred studio and visit time; agree collection separately.
The BESTAUTO service page gives a 2–4 hour guide depending on the number of windows. Discuss removal and vehicle details before work; the studio will confirm collection time. Agree washing, polishing or other work in advance rather than assuming all services will finish together.
Intake and agreeing the offer
Before fitting, discuss glass condition, old film and existing damage. Recording these and agreeing the order's scope is useful. Confirm the actual product, shade, price and warranty terms; a brand name alone does not establish them.
View a sample from inside and outside. The product's VLT label does not guarantee the same result on your glass; ask what is measured before and after fitting. Read the film selection guide and, for replacement, the removal and defects guide.
Preparation, fitting and application
IWFA describes installation through cleaning, fitting the film, positioning with installation solution and removing liquid with a squeegee. Curved glass may need film forming.
Cutting a contour and matching curvature are different tasks: a template does not itself remove the need for forming. The approach depends on the glass and product. Solution, heating and tools follow the product's method; one universal recipe in an article does not replace installation expertise.
Installation, drying and the first days
| Stage | Guide | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Studio work | 2–4 hours on the service page. | Collection is confirmed for the agreed work. |
| Drying after fitting | Depends on product and conditions. | Different from visit duration or the window-lowering restriction. |
BESTAUTO's current instruction is not to lower windows for 3 days after installation. This is a window-use instruction, not one full drying time for every film. At collection, confirm cleaning, stickers and care for the installed product. An example of separate product guidance is 3M's care instructions; do not automatically apply another manufacturer's times to your film.
Residual moisture can temporarily affect clarity. The IWFA inspection guide relates drying to material and conditions; one universal date does not diagnose installation quality. If an edge lifts or the view concerns you, show the studio rather than piercing or heating the film yourself. See fresh-installation care.
Checks at collection
- The agreed windows, product and shade.
- The view through glass and edge condition; discuss concerns with the installer.
- Window-use and cleaning instructions; do not lower fresh windows for your own test.
- Work and warranty documents, contact method and any follow-up inspection terms.
Agree follow-up and responses to concerns with the studio. Whether correction is needed is assessed after inspection; a film name does not promise every case a free redo.
Price and studio choice
Starting entries: front sides from 130 ₾, rear sides from 130 ₾, rear window from 160 ₾, windshield from 290 ₾. Agree material, old-film removal and the total before installation. Current pricing is on the service page. All services are available at both studios: Saburtalo and Guramishvili.
FAQ
Must I wait for full drying at the studio?
Collection is agreed separately. Drying continues after fitting; follow the care instructions you receive.
Can I briefly open the window during the first days?
BESTAUTO's rule is not to lower windows for 3 days. Do not make your own exception for brief ventilation.
Does slight haze mean a defect?
It may relate to residual moisture. Timing or a description alone does not establish the cause; show the studio the area that concerns you.
How does old film affect the work?
Agree removal, glass condition, preparation cost and any change to work time before the new film is fitted.
Can I book in winter or rain?
Ask your chosen studio about timing and conditions. Drying depends on conditions and product; the season does not set one universal duration.
Different window rules are in the separate guide. Choose a studio to book: provide your car, windows and old film.
