A wash, polishing, interior cleaning, ceramic coating, PPF and wrapping solve different problems. To choose work for your car, compare the purpose of each service and how it fits with the others. This overview covers nine BESTAUTO services in Tbilisi, current prices and how to prioritise a limited budget.
What car detailing includes
Car care includes cleaning the exterior and interior, correcting suitable surface defects, protecting surfaces and changing appearance. Tinting and soundproofing address separate comfort needs. A visit can combine several jobs, but the whole list is not a compulsory package.
Start with a specific concern: interior stains, paint scratches, stone-chip protection, a new colour or noise on the road. Then assess the car's condition, budget and suitable scope. Our car detailing guide explains the broader approach; below you can compare individual services.
1. PPF — paint protection against stone chips
Purpose and suitability. Polyurethane paint protection film takes road-debris impacts and helps reduce damage to the paint. Individual panels, the front group or the whole body can be covered, depending on routes, paint condition and budget. Both new and used cars can be considered after inspection.
Prices. Clear PPF on the front group starts at 2500 ₾; a full clear wrap starts at 6900 ₾. Hood from 800 ₾, bumper from 900 ₾, headlights from 350 ₾, panoramic roof from 900 ₾. Combining work. Cleaning and surface preparation come before installation; paint condition determines whether polishing is needed. A coating for film must suit that material. Do not assume that ceramic beneath PPF or multiple layers of film are part of the agreed process.
2. Ceramic coating — surface protection and easier care
Purpose and suitability. Ceramic coating provides a protective layer with water-repellent properties after appropriate preparation. It does not remove scratches or replace PPF for protection against stone impacts.
Prices. Body coating from 500 ₾, glass rain-repellent from 150 ₾, interior ceramic from 300 ₾. The current body-coating offer has an effect of up to 3 years with proper care; the chosen product and use affect durability. See ceramic coating.
Combining work. Any necessary paint correction comes before the coating. Polishing is not compulsory for every car: inspect the surface first. Film, leather and plastic require products suitable for each material.
3. Polishing — correcting scratches and restoring gloss
Purpose and suitability. Polishing can reduce wash marks, holograms and suitable surface defects. Inspection determines the method and achievable result. Deep damage and chips cannot automatically be promised away through polishing.
Prices. Body polishing from 690 ₾; the current body-polishing and ceramic-coating offer starts at 990 ₾. Headlights from 150 ₾, interior trim from 200 ₾. Glass has separate prices below. See car polishing.
Combining work. Polishing can prepare paint for ceramic or PPF when its condition requires correction. A new car also needs inspection rather than an automatic decision based on age. Future paint condition depends on use and care.
4. Interior cleaning — deep cleaning of cabin materials
Purpose and suitability. Interior cleaning addresses soiling on upholstery, leather, plastic and other cabin surfaces. It can help after travelling with children or pets, during regular care or before selling a car. Methods are chosen for the material and its condition.
Prices. Light soiling from 400 ₾, medium from 500 ₾, heavy from 550 ₾. All three categories have the same scope of work: soiling and pet hair affect the price. Ozone treatment is a separate 70 ₾ service. The final price is agreed after assessment, before work starts. See car interior cleaning.
Combining work. Interior coatings are considered after cleaning and necessary drying. Cabin and body work can form one order, but collection time depends on the selected jobs. For an odour, identify its source; treatment alone cannot guarantee removal of every cause.
5. Window tinting — choosing film for comfort and appearance
Purpose and suitability. Tinting can provide privacy, change appearance and improve comfort in sunny weather. Light transmission and heat-reduction properties depend on the specific film. Discuss which windows, which material and the desired shade.
Prices. Rear side windows from 130 ₾, front side windows from 130 ₾, rear window from 160 ₾, windshield from 290 ₾ on request. See car window tinting.
Combining work. Tinting does not repair damaged glass. If repair, polishing or another glass treatment is needed, agree the work and its order before film installation. Body work can be discussed separately in the same order.
6. Glass repair and polishing
Purpose and suitability. Chips and cracks are assessed for repair; wiper marks and surface scratches for polishing or grinding. Suitability depends on the type, position and condition of the damage. A repair does not mean its trace will become completely invisible.
Prices. Chip up to 1 cm from 60 ₾, 1–2 cm from 80 ₾. Crack up to 15 cm from 95 ₾, 15–30 cm from 140 ₾. We repair some 15–30 cm cracks, but inspection is required because repair is not always worthwhile. Windshield polishing — from 200 ₾, side-window polishing — from 100 ₾. Combining work. Assess the glass before choosing film or a coating. The order of procedures and whether they fit into one visit depend on the selected repair and treatment.
7. Detailing wash — body care and cabin cleaning
Purpose and suitability. A hand wash is suitable for regular car care, including cars with ceramic or PPF. The service page explains the two- and three-phase options and the cabin-cleaning scope.
Prices and timing. A two-phase wash with cabin cleaning costs 55 ₾ and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Three-phase costs 65 ₾ and takes approximately 2–2.5 hours. These prices apply to all body types. Engine-bay washing is a separate 80 ₾ job. See detailing car wash.
Combining work. Polishing, coating and wrapping require a prepared surface, with preparation agreed for the job. A wash with cabin cleaning does not replace deep interior cleaning. Choose wash intervals by soiling and the care instructions for the fitted film or coating.
8. Vinyl and coloured PPF — changing appearance
Purpose and suitability. Vinyl can change the colour or finish of the body or individual parts. Coloured protective PPF combines an appearance change with paint protection. Select material based on the intended result, paint condition and available colour samples.
Prices. Full vinyl wrap from 6900 ₾; a full colour change with protective PPF from 7900 ₾. Chrome delete from 300 ₾, roof in black polyurethane film from 800 ₾. See colour changes with vinyl and coloured PPF.
Combining work. Decide the material and coverage first, then agree preparation and compatible coatings after inspection. Film removal also depends on the paint's condition. Vinyl over clear PPF should not be treated as a compulsory combination.
9. Soundproofing — addressing road noise
Purpose and suitability. Selected-zone soundproofing can address road and wheel noise, vibration or cabin comfort. Describe where and when you hear the noise first. If a mechanical fault is responsible, installing materials does not repair it.
Prices. Full soundproofing from 2100 ₾, doors from 900 ₾, trunk from 600 ₾, floor from 1000 ₾, wheel arches from 600 ₾. The zones and full scope are agreed for the car; separate-job prices are not added up as a package. See car soundproofing.
Combining work. If interior cleaning is also planned, agree the order of disassembly, cleaning, drying and reassembly in advance. The result depends on the original noise and chosen zones, without a universal percentage promise.
Where to start on a limited budget
- Soiling is the main concern. Consider a wash for routine care or interior cleaning for deeper cabin soiling. Their scopes differ.
- Paint appearance is the concern. Start with inspection and suitable correction. Choose a coating or film for subsequent use.
- Stone-chip protection is the goal. Discuss PPF on exposed zones or the full body. Owners do not all need the same coverage.
- Style or comfort is the goal. Compare vinyl with coloured PPF, select tinting windows or soundproofing zones for your needs.
