Interior plastic, soft-touch coatings, glossy trim and screens need different care. “For cars”, a pH number or a silicone-free label does not establish compatibility with every surface. Matt plastic, soft-touch, clear parts and painted glossy inserts have different finishes. Wood-look or metal-look trim is not necessarily made from the same material. A dashboard product should not be applied everywhere, nor should a screen be cleaned with a general interior cleaner.

The manufacturer requires checking compatibility, removing residue, avoiding hot surfaces and not allowing the product to dry. These directions apply to that particular product; check the separate instructions for any other cleaner.
Do not increase concentration for stubborn dirt without manufacturer guidance. If the label does not explain use on your material, obtain that information first. The liquid’s appearance or smell cannot replace instructions.
Shine after treatment does not prove damage or identify a particular product. Appearance may reflect the original finish, the applied product or an excess of it. Silicone in an ingredient list does not automatically make a product unsuitable for every plastic.
Stickiness can relate to product residue, contamination or changes in the coating itself. A description alone cannot establish the cause. If an area softens, changes colour or transfers its coating to the cloth, stop and discuss its condition. Do not try to force an originally glossy surface into a matt finish.
Do not use acetone, petrol, a household degreaser, citrus solvent or an alcohol wipe merely because it removes adhesive from another material. Dashboard, painted trim, screen and seal restrictions may differ. There is no universally safe alcohol percentage for every interior finish.
For routine dust, start with a soft clean cloth and the method allowed by the vehicle manual. Do not pour product into joints or onto controls. For a permitted cleaner, follow its application directions, concealed-area test and residue removal. Avoid applying several products in succession to speed things up.

Keep the product name, dilution and sequence of steps. Explain where the change appeared and whether it existed before treatment. Do not repeat a weekly alcohol “recovery” procedure before compatibility and the possible outcome have been assessed.
