Consider polishing before sale when suitable cleaning leaves surface marks that can be improved and the expected result fits your budget. It can improve presentation for a listing and viewing. The sale price and time on the market also depend on the car’s condition, history, demand and asking terms; an added resale premium or payback cannot be promised in advance.
Inspect the car after a suitable wash: which marks were contamination, what remains and what you want to improve. If the clean appearance already meets your needs, further correction may be unnecessary. Age, dark paint or an upcoming sale alone do not prescribe polishing.

Agree which panels will be treated, which marks will remain and how the result will be assessed. Do not select maximum intensity solely because the car is for sale. Matte finishes, film and unknown coatings need a separate compatibility check.
Give the photo or viewing date before booking. Agree readiness around the selected work, drying after cleaning and any additional materials. There is no compulsory “several days before sale” window for every car. Abrasive polishing itself does not mean that clearcoat always needs a new multi-day curing period.
