Great service, brand-new equipment and a great location. I had my car washed — everything quick and precise. The reception area deserves a separate mention: lots of space, good coffee and massage chairs.
Black dots may appear near the wheels after a journey, sticky droplets after parking beneath trees, and bug residue across the front of a car after a highway trip. A mark that survives a normal wash does not automatically call for polishing. First identify the contamination and surface, choose compatible cleaning, then assess what remains.
You can discuss localised marks and car care with BESTAUTO in Tbilisi, Georgia. Explain where and when the marks appeared, whether the panel has PPF, vinyl or a ceramic coating, and what has already been applied. Photos help describe the task; they do not establish the final price or guarantee complete removal.
Road tar, tree sap or bug residue?
Appearance and location provide clues for the discussion. A black dot is not necessarily tar, and a sticky drop is not always tree sap. Avoid testing the idea with a fingernail or a dry cloth.
| What you see | Useful background |
|---|---|
| Dark dots or streaks near wheels and lower panels | Recent asphalt or roadworks, when the marks appeared, and which panels have film. |
| Sticky droplets on the hood, roof or trunk | Parking beneath trees, time since discovery, and whether the droplets have dried. |
| Residue on the bumper, mirrors or hood front | Highway travel, the journey date, and any subsequent washing. |
| A flat outline, stain or dull area after cleaning | Products used and how the mark changed. Assess the finish before trying a stronger product. |
Meguiar’s describes road tar and bug residue bonding to surfaces and potentially leaving stains. That supports prompt attention, but a named product is not a universal prescription for every film or coating.
What to do when a normal wash has not helped
- Identify the surface. Original paint, resprays, matte finishes, PPF and vinyl need an appropriate approach. If the car has a ceramic coating, provide its name and application date when known.
- Record the area. Take a full-panel view and a close-up under clear light before further attempts. Include the location, discovery date and products previously used.
- Check compatibility. Instructions must cover your particular surface. A bottle labelled “tar remover” does not establish suitability for your PPF, matte vinyl or recent respray.
- Assess after suitable cleaning. Check the clean, dry area. A remaining outline, changed gloss or altered texture needs discussion before repeating treatment.
Do not scrape deposits or begin abrasive polishing on a contaminated panel. More rubbing or repeated solvent use is not a reliable way to identify the mark. If gentle, compatible treatment has not helped, preserve the area for inspection.

Paint, ceramic coatings, PPF and vinyl
Paint and clear coat
Start with the panel’s history: repainting, polishing and previous chemical treatment. A persistent dot may need local cleaning, but the product, dwell time and contact method must suit the surface. One recipe, temperature or treatment time cannot be assigned to every car.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating does not remove the need to assess a mark and check product instructions. Tell the studio which coating was applied, if known. Discuss the surface and further maintenance after cleaning; a droplet outline alone does not prove all protection has stopped working. See the ceramic coating care guide.
Clear or coloured PPF
Check the film series and condition. 3M’s PPF care advice notes staining from sap and insect debris and directs owners to their installer for dried sap. Instructions for the specific film take precedence over generic paint advice.
If an edge, colour or texture has changed, avoid lifting the film or attempting ordinary body polishing. Show the area to the studio first. PPF care includes checking the surface and edges; cleaning, correction or replacing an area needs assessment.
Decorative vinyl and matte finishes
Identify the film and finish before treatment. 3M’s vinyl care guidance describes gentle hand washing and mild detergent. Those principles do not establish compatibility with an arbitrary solvent. For matte finishes, discuss preserving the original texture rather than polishing a spot until glossy.
When to discuss polishing after cleaning
Once attached deposits have been removed, a visible mark could be remaining contamination, a treatment mark or a change in the finish itself. A photograph alone may not distinguish them. Discuss inspection, a possible test area and the limits of improvement.
Correction of suitable glossy paint depends on its condition, rather than the fact that tar appeared. It is not a promise to reverse every loss of colour or repair damaged paint or film. Read which marks polishing can improve and the polishing service details.
Agreeing cleaning with BESTAUTO
The service page offers detailing car wash in two programmes with cabin cleanup. Two phases cost 55 ₾ and take about 1.5 hours; three phases cost 65 ₾ and take 2–2.5 hours. Prices apply across vehicle body types. See the two- and three-phase comparison and current wash prices.
55/65 ₾ are wash programme prices, not a fixed tariff for removing every tar, sap or bug mark. Ask whether local treatment is required, what the agreed scope includes, and how it affects price and time. Polishing or renewing protection should follow assessment and agreement rather than automatically being included in washing.
- Provide a full-panel photo and close-up without filters.
- Explain the discovery date, journeys and parking conditions.
- Identify the surface material and previous cleaning attempts.
- Agree scope, limitations, estimated timing and total price before work.
All services are available at both studios: Saburtalo and Guramishvili. Choose the convenient branch through the wash contacts and discuss your car’s condition.
Planning ongoing care
Check the front and mirrors after highway travel, and the hood, roof and trunk after parking beneath trees. Discuss persistent contamination promptly rather than waiting for a scheduled full wash. Match care to actual condition: the Tbilisi wash schedule guide considers journeys and parking.
Protection does not replace timely cleaning. Compatible care and careful drying help maintain the surface; the paint care mistakes guide explains useful habits.
